SOLO Exhibition!! I have been invited to have an exhibition of my work at the Frostburg (MD) Museum from May, 19-June 14, 2012. There will be about 15 pieces. I'm calling it Fierce Winds as most of the work will be from that series. Grand opening on May 19; if you happen to be in western Maryland, please attend..
I'm tickled to have been invited to have a two-page spread in Best of Mixed Media 2011. It's a nicely printed art volume. They requested 4 specific pieces and asked for 6 more to choose among for the book. It will "drop" in about March of 2012. I will let everyone know when that happens.
Quilts on the Wall will show at the Hangar Gallery in Santa Monica, CA, from May 19-June 14. I am curating the mixed media/art quilt extravaganza. BIG opening event the evening of May 19. Be there!!
Frontiers: Where Art Meets Science (SAQA.com) international traveling exhibition opened in Birmingham, England, in August 2010, and will travel for two years to Pfizer Labs HQ in NYC - the show will be there through early March, 2011), Quilt Expo Beaujolais in Graves sur Anse, France (April 14-17, 2011), Visions Art Museum in San Diego February 3-April 25, 2012, and the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta June 11-September 14, 2012 at their Global Health Odyssey Museum.
Quilts on the Wall's Gates Challenge quilts is on display at the gorgeous Cerritos Library through April. My piece, Abandon Hope, beckons sinners into a foiled black and red morass
Deep Spaces is a four part exhibition in the Pacific Northwest. A rich multi-times overdyed blue piece of my art cloth will be shown Sept. 5-Nov. 6, 2011, at Latimer Quilt and Textile Center in Oregon then Edmunds, WA, Conference Center in the winter. From there to Sam Houston University Museum in Huntsville, TX (okay, not exactly the Pacific Northwest . . .) from Jan. 10-March, 2012, and lastly at La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum in WA March 28-June 24, 2012. Harem - an art cloth of mine - will be at the Lines and Numbers exhibition during FiberPhiladelphia. Visit Crane Arts Old School 1417 N. Second St. March 3-April 15 Wed.-Sun. noon-6. There will be many fabulous shows this spring at FiberPhil!
5 Strands - There are five of us contemporary stitchers working on a round robin which will end up creating five 5-piece series where each piece is 8" x 8". We are on round three now and will wait to post until next summer when all are done. Shows will be announced as they develop.
My quilt "Building Blocks" which is comprised of 10 12" squares has been juried into Structures in Cloth, a three venue SAQA exhibition. It will be seen in Arvada, Sangre de Cristo and Ft. Collins through April 2012 starting at the Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities in June, 2011.

This is a Quilt: SAQA put together a traveling trunk show and my work is in the second trunk (B), off to points EAST ... Asia and then I know not where through 2013. I'll post details as they become available.
